AI power infrastructure is heating up—and the latest move screams “long-term demand lock-in.” TeraWulf says it has signed a 20-year AI data center lease with Anthropic. Under the agreement, Anthropic will rent Critical IT Load capacity at TeraWulf’s Justified Data campus in Kentucky—targeting roughly 401MW—and will complete construction and commissioning in phases. After the announcement, TeraWulf’s stock rose about 4.86%, closing around $22.21. To many investors, this isn’t just a contract—it’s a signal that hyperscalers and frontier-model builders are continuing to secure large-scale compute supply for years ahead. TeraWulf’s path is also telling: founded in 2021 (initially focused on Bitcoin mining), went public via SPAC in Nov 2021, and has increasingly shifted toward AI/HPC-ready data centers. The company’s AI push includes cooperation with Fluidstack in 2025. Timeline: the first portion of the 401MW is expected to start in late 2027, with full buildout aimed for early 2028. The lease could mean ~$19 billion in rent revenue (initial estimate). #AIDataCenters #ComputeInfrastructure #CloudAI #EnergyAndPower #HPC #Anthropic
