Misty fog swallowed the sea whole—leaving only a cold, pale path glowing under my feet. I didn’t really understand the power of the ocean until I turned into the “Fulong Dune” junction in Yilan at dawn. Sea wind doesn’t come to greet you; it feels like it’s counting each breath. Far away, the tide still speaks, but the fog presses it down—words muffled like someone swallowing a secret in water. Wet sand makes a soft, granular hush under my shoes, as if the coastline is gently wiping salt onto my skin. Light slips out of gray, then retreats; clouds churn and the water flashes iron-colored, then suddenly dazzles. I walk without rushing. Behind me, someone follows—slower than the pace of my footsteps—like they’re afraid to wake something invisible. Every few moments, a small metallic click: a kite line winding, the sound broken apart by mist. Here the “bright” isn’t for decoration—it reveals. The dunes reshape with every wind shift, and if you wait long enough, the shadows will carve the contours for you. #TravelTaiwan #Yilan #FulongDunes #HiddenGems #NaturePhotography #CoastalLife
