Phishing sites, fake “official” portals, and even domain hijacking incidents are climbing fast. Taiwan’s internet registry TWNIC says many companies are still treating cybersecurity like a checklist: firewall + passwords. But that’s not enough—because your domain, DNS, and routing are literally part of your public identity. With generative AI making spoofed content cheaper and faster to mass-produce, attackers can scale “looks-real” scam entry points. TWNIC urges businesses to re-audit website/domain foundations—especially digital trust controls—and to verify HTTPS and DNS defenses. Their quick diagnostic tool, check.twnic.tw, can help assess whether your DNS-related protections are in place. Big picture: Taiwan’s routing side is relatively strong (ROA coverage ~98%, ROV filtering ~56%). But DNSSEC adoption is weak: as of mid-September, only about 10,356 .tw/Taiwan domains—~2.47%—had DNSSEC enabled. TWNIC recommends enabling DNSSEC (lowering the odds of tampered/forged DNS), expanding ROV beyond ROA, and using Registry Lock for critical domains. Outsource DNS if you must—never outsource control. #CyberSecurity #DNSSEC #PhishingDefense #DomainSecurity #TWNIC #DigitalTrust
