On Sept 15, Oracle released its September Critical Patch Update (CSPU). This batch includes 673 security patches addressing 672 vulnerabilities. Compared with August’s CSPU (943 updates), the volume is down by roughly a third—but “smaller” doesn’t mean “safer.” The severity mix still demands serious attention. Tenable analysis shows Oracle covered 17 application systems, spanning 672 CVEs. The most striking detail: Critical flaws are 104 (15.5%), while High-risk vulnerabilities dominate at 503 (74.7%). Translation: most issues sit in the “high impact” zone—once exploited, an attacker can move from one application into the broader business chain. In affected products, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) leads with 159 vulnerabilities, followed by Oracle Fusion Middleware with 153. For weaknesses exploitable remotely without authentication, Fusion Middleware tops the list with 78. Oracle Hyperion and Oracle Siebel CRM also report 50 and 26 related issues, respectively. If a flaw can be triggered remotely without login, your exposure window shrinks to minutes. Patch fast, verify public-facing services, and prioritize Critical + High in your testing and rollout plan. #OracleSecurity #CSPU #VulnerabilityManagement #PatchManagement #CyberSecurity #Tenable
