OpenAI just announced a major upgrade to ChatGPT Voice on Sep 24: you can now talk to ChatGPT and directly trigger external Plugins using your voice—plus it’s integrated into the same “do it” workflow as ChatGPT Work. Voice launched back in 2023, making it easy to tap the wave icon and chat hands-free. You could interrupt the AI anytime and keep going—no back-and-forth typing required. The big shift now is from “voice conversation” to “voice execution.” Instead of only asking for explanations, you can issue real work instructions. OpenAI says the rollout starts immediately and will gradually reach users worldwide. With connected accounts and offline tools (like email, calendars, and Slack), you can ask things like: “What’s my schedule tomorrow?” or “Check my email”—and the results show up right in the chat. Even better: Voice now supports ChatGPT Work. Say what you need (draft a file, build a spreadsheet, generate a deck, or handle multi-step browser tasks). If you end the voice session, you can continue in text to finish. Free and Go users get plugin access within their limits, but “voice-driven Work” requires Work permissions. #ChatGPT #OpenAI #AIAgents #VoiceAI #Productivity #Plugins
